In his oral history interview, Eric Paglar also recounted that M&B 693, or May and Baker 693 sulfonamide tablets, was a very good medicine for curing wounds before the advent of penicillin. In fact, he recalled that the form of currency before the war was M&B 693 as each pill was worth a lot of money. This led to many forms of imitation tablets on the market.
