The Museum Volunteers (MV) volunteer group
will be organising a Volunteer Guide Training
Programme for the Singapore Art Museum(SAM).
It is targeted at enthusiastic and confident
individuals who have a passion for art and
are interested to be trained as SAM weekend
volunteer guides.Training classes will be
conducted on Saturday afternoons and will
run from mid May to the end August.

Interested to be a guide at Singapore's national
museums? Sign up as a member of the Friends of
the Museums (Singapore) FOM(S), as they launch
a new series of docent training programmes in
September 2008. These are specially catered for
those keen in becoming volunteer museum guides.
Spanning four to six months, the training programmes
will equip interested individuals with the necessary
knowledge and background to become qualified docents
at any one of Singapore's four national museums
- Asian Civilisations Museum, National Museum
of Singapore, Singapore Art Museum, and the newly
minted Peranakan Museum.
The comprehensive training includes lectures
by museum curators and recognised experts, field
trips, highlight tours and practical activities
within the museums.
