The installations organised in conjunction with Manila Galleon: From Asia to the Americas involved contributions from many communities, from maestros in Mexico to volunteers from the Filipino and Mexican communities in Singapore.

In this panel discussion, Cándida Fernández de Calderón, director of the Fomento Cultural Citibanamex. A.C., discusses her work with craftsmen to preserve and promote Mexican heritage. Cándida is a researcher and historian dedicated to honouring the great masters of Mexican folk art. She has curated over 47 exhibitions, overseen the restoration of historic buildings and archaeological sites, and contributed to 40 award-winning publications that promote Mexican artistic traditions.

The talk will be followed by a panel discussion with Lidia Riveros, Tracy Tang, and Denisonde Simbol, who worked with diverse communities to amplify their voices in the Manila Galleon exhibition.

Light refreshements will be served during the session.
