Part of NHB's Assistance in Infrastructure for Museums (AIM) scheme, the opportunity to develop, operate and manage IMAFs will be presented to those in the private sector interested in utilising former state land and property for the purpose of developing new private museums and cultural-related developments. As Singapore’s cultural hub grows, NHB has seen more local and foreign private collectors establish a base for their collections here. The AIM scheme is therefore developed to assist in this area. |

The proposals will be assessed based on a matrix of factors, including the overall concept of the facility, management experience and track record of the interested party, quality of proposed museum, art and cultural collections, reputation of its institutions, as well as the relevance of the proposal in injecting vibrancy into the heritage eco-system. |

The development of these IMAFs will see private museums, art galleries, F&B outlets and retail spaces integrated under one roof. Not only will such integrated facilities enhance Singapore’s heritage eco-system as a whole, but they will contribute significantly to the nation’s cultural landscape. |

A total of three sites have been identified for this purpose. Two of the sites are located at the Loewen Cluster at Tanglin Village, while the third is located at 222 Queen Street. The Loewen properties were formerly used by the British Army and various Government ministries, while the Queen Street building previously housed Catholic High Secondary School.

The sites were selected based on locality, convenience, space and ease of adaptability. Their prime locations will not only serve as excellent launch pads for the proposers’ ideas and aspirations, but act as potential showcases of our nation’s heritage. Please refer to Annex 1 for the details on the proposed sites. |

This is a Request-for-Interest exercise and does not constitute an offer of the sites listed. The Singapore Government reserves the right to decide whether to proceed with awarding the sites at the end of the exercise and to vary the specifications of the sites at its discretion. |
