Archives Unlocked: From Automobiles to Archives

Have you ever wondered what lies within the Former Ford Factory, tucked away among the lush greenery along Upper Bukit Timah Road? Join us as we explore the building’s industrial beginnings as the first motorcar assembly plant in Southeast Asia, and witness its transformation to the learning centre it is now.

Embark on a road trip with Assistant Conservator Cassandra Tang, as she shares on how the Former Ford Factory came to be, explores the exhibition on life during the Japanese Occupation, and discover the challenges of maintaining a permanent exhibition.

[About the Speaker]

Cassandra Tang is an Assistant Conservator with the National Archives of Singapore. Together with her fellow conservators at the Archives Conservation Lab, she carries out conservation treatments for historical records and supports the collections and exhibitions at the National Archives of Singapore, National Library and the Former Ford Factory.

[About Archives Unlocked]
