SMOO Challenge 2021
SMU is celebrating its 21st anniversary and we are marking the occasion with our annual fundraiser, SMOO Challenge 2021.
We aim to accomplish a collective distance of 50,000km in 21 days, from 3 – 24 September 2021, which is more than going one way around the globe, and raise $400,000 which will go towards creating bursaries for students in need. As OneSMU, we hope to marshal the entire community of students, alumni, staff, faculty — even members of the public, friends and family — to run/walk for a good cause.
There are six race categories — 5km, 10km, 21km, 50km, 100km and 210km (to complete over 21 days). Every kilometer clocked will be making a positive impact; upon hitting specific distance milestones as a community, a donation from a SMOO Partner from that distance milestone will be “unlocked” which will go towards the SMU Bursary Fund to help students in financial need. Furthermore, with a Tote Board dollar-for-dollar matching of funds raised, this doubles the impact towards a meaningful cause. Join us for this virtual run!
