Introducing the National Archives of Singapore

The National Archives of Singapore (NAS) is the official custodian of the Singapore government's corporate memory. To fill gaps in the nation's history, NAS also acquires records from private sources. The rich holdings of archives form an important part of Singapore's heritage for enjoyment by the present and future generations of Singaporeans through exhibitions, outreach and publication programmes.

Who we are

Established by an act of parliament in 1968, NAS was first known as the National Archives and Records Centre. It has since undergone many name changes and transformation to evolve into the National Archives of Singapore in 1993.
