Khabair Baik! Saturday programmes are supported by The Peranakan Association Singapore, Peranakan Indian (Chitty Melaka) Association Singapore, and the Arab Network @ Singapore.

Our Stories: Community Tour

Go on a special tour of Apa Khabair with members of the Peranakan community. They will regale you with stories and recollections of the past. Learn more about the objects on the display – some of them are still used today!

Tours in May are conducted by members from the Arab Network @ Singapore.

Masak Masak! Food Demonstration

Discover the delectable flavours of Peranakan cuisine in this cooking demonstration. Nyonya Linda Ng, of Linda’s Table Private Dining, will introduce participants to two classic home-style Peranakan dishes in this session. Get a taste of authentic Peranakan fare and find out what makes Peranakan food so flavourful!

Batik Craft

Drop-in Craft Activity: Mini Batik Painting

Try your hand at batik painting in this drop-in craft activity. Paint in colours on pre-waxed batik cloth – and let your creative juices flow!

No prior registration required. Drop-ins will close at 3.30pm to allow for sufficient time to complete the activity.

Let's Dance! Zafin Tari Performance

Upbeat and expressive, zafin is a popular dance and musical form in traditional Malay and Peranakan performing arts. Move along to the music in this zafin performance and join in the fun!

Enrich your learning at the pop-up exhibition with our family guide,and discover interesting facets of Peranakan food, clothing, and culture.Suitable for ages 7 and up.

From 30 April to 29 May, show your completed activity trail to Front Desk staff to receive a copy of “The Colourful World of the Peranakans” colouring book. While supplies last.
