Glow wild and join us after hours at ACM to discover the wonders of the night. Immerse in enchanting stories and experience objects in a whole new light. Let your imagination run free in hands-on activities. Explore an interactive installation and travel through time in an immersive tour of the galleries! All this and more in a wild adventure into the night.

This programme is suitable for children ages 5 and up, and the young at heart.

There’s no need to be afraid of things in the night. Join us in this playscape with fun friends! Explore three interactive stations inspired by objects in the ACM collection – create your own adventure scene, populate your own night sky, and discover what lies behind those doors.

This installation was jointly developed by ACM and 8EyedSpud.

Astrolabe craft

Drop-in and make your own astrolabe – a tool used by people in the past to tell time and find out where they are! Then, use it to measure the height of trees and even buildings.

Storytelling CS

Listen to the story of a tiny royal family who journey far and wide in search of “the strongest of them all”! Who can it be?

Then, create a special glow-in-the-dark screen print to take home.

Shipwrecked: A Voyage Through Time

Meet Salman, a crew member who was shipwrecked and found himself out of time and place! Join him on an immersive and interactive voyage through the galleries. He'll regale you with stories about the Arabian dhow, the valuable cargo it was carrying, and his own life during the 9th century.
