Fluidity: BA Fine Arts work-in-progress exhibition

Fluidity presents various artistic practices of 46 Level 3 students from the BA(Hons) Fine Arts programme. The works developed by the students will eventually be exhibited as part of The LASALLE Show in April. Fluidity is a work-in-progress exhibition that honours the time and effort put in by the students to research and develop oftentimes volatile ideas, sketches and experiments.

The students come from diverse backgrounds and take inspiration from a variety of influences—body and identity politics, the urban environment, natural materials, Southeast Asian culture, art history and everyday life. Fluidity is anchored on process-based research that represents each student’s distinctive response to different learning stimuli. What is truly 'final' in the state of fluidity is what it perennially embodies.

The digital magazine created specifically for this exhibition, Fun-zine, provides a glimpse into the students’ studio lives: how ideas, conversations and everyday encounters coincide and integrate with one another. In addition, interviews of student curators, artists and lecturers can be accessed through the QR Code found in the Fun-zine as well as in the exhibition space.

The exhibition celebrates the collective achievement of the artists’ determination, creativity, and tenacity to be industry-ready.
