A Musical Journey Back In Time

On a starry night, Grandpa and Granny were telling their grandchildren stories of their childhood at the marketplace in the past, and tales of a giant water pump that was the beating heart of their kampung village. Suddenly, when the children are fast asleep, they wake up to find themselves transported back in time to the very same kampung that their grandparents were telling them about!
Through this musical journey, children will explore different elements of music - pitch, rhythm, instruments and timbre whilst also gaining insight on the importance of water supply and water conservation.
This storytelling session is presented by students from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.

Venue: Children’s Museum Singapore – The Marketplace Gallery
Recommended Age: 5 to 9 years old
Activity Fee: Free. As this is a free programme, participation will be based on a first-come-first-served basis and limited to museum visitors only.

A young camper overheard a conversation between a Bird, a Squirrel, and a Sambar Deer. They speak of a sacred tree on Bukit Larangan, where whoever sleeps beneath it can never wake from their dreams. There is also a saying that the tree will reveal secrets and treasures of the past that has yet to be found. So which is it? Will the young camper find out the truth behind the Tree of Dreams or will the animals get there first without him? This is a part of Singapore Night Festival 2024.
