Beyond the Painted Surface: Conserving the Yeh Chi Wei Paintings in the NHB Collection
Paintings Conservator, Mar Gomez provides an interesting insight into the findings from the materials and condition survey of Yeh Chi Wei's paintings in the NHB collection undertaken by the paintings conservation team. The closed examination of the paintings allowed for the uncovering of important information such as original inscriptions, their structure and layering, and the techiniques of the artist. This article is from the new catalogue to accompany the National Art Gallery, Singapore, exhibition The Story of Yeh Chi Wei.
