Children’s Season at the National Museum of Singapore returns with another fun-filled exhibition to celebrate the June school holidays. Join us at Masak Masak 2015 which features familiar playgrounds, interactive installations by Singaporean and international artists including Jeremy Hiah, Mademoiselle Maurice and Crystal Wagner.

Don’t miss the engaging performances and family-oriented activities as well. Let your young ones play at the museum and have fun! Suitable for children aged 3 to 7.

Playgrounds on the Lawn
Available for play every Sat & Sun, 10am to 12pm & 4pm to 6pm

Spectrum of Paper

Artist Workshop by Mademoiselle Maurice
Fun with origami!

Transform a simple piece of paper into a work of art at this fun and interactive origami workshop! Get creative and be inspired by French artist Mademoiselle Maurice as she guides you and your young one in the intricate art of paper folding.

Parent and child 4 to 7 years old

Time: 10.30am (1.5 hr session)
Venue: Seminar Room, Level 2
Admission: $20 per ticket (excludes SISTIC booking fee)

Each ticket admits one parent-and-child (4 to 7 years old) pair and includes all materials needed for the workshop. Each workshop is limited to 10 parent-and-child pairs. Tickets available at SISTIC.

Time: 1.30pm (2 hr session)

Admission: $12 per ticket (excludes SISTIC booking fee)

Artist Workshop by Jeremy Hiah
Shadow Puppetry – Let’s Play & Learn!

Join Singaporean artist Jeremy Hiah in this fun and interactive workshop and give your child a chance to create his or her own story using shadow puppetry! Inspired by Javanese wayang kulit, the workshop brings your child’s story to life with characters from an Asian folk tale and sheds light on the traditional art form.

Joint Picture Joins Hearts: An Art Therapy Workshop

A Lighter Side of History presents Joint Picture Joins Hearts, an art therapy workshop that explores art as a form of communication. Be inspired by history and join us for an afternoon of creative expression through painting and drawing with your child or grandchild. Facilitated by experienced art therapists, this workshop encourages the sharing of experiences between generations, while inculcating the importance of valuing and respecting others.

Beat the heat with Momolato

Momolato makes a cool comeback to Children’s Season at the museum over the June holiday! Just for the occasion, they’ve created a special gelato flavour – Masak Masak – that’s guaranteed to be a hit with the young and the young-at-heart.

Visit their little ice-cream pushcart from on the museum front lawn every Sat and Sun (10am - 6pm; 30 May till 28 Jun) and beat the heat with these ice-cold treats!

Family Time

Visit our permanent galleries with your little ones and play spot-the-artefact! Our colourful Early Learning Resources introduce pre-schoolers to our artefacts according to the themes of Numbers, Colours, and ABCs. Available at $8 per set from the Museum Label shop.
