Held at the National Museum of Singapore and opening to the public on 7 March, Wallpaper* Handmade Singapore is part of an ongoing collaboration between Wallpaper*, the global authority on design, and the Design Singapore Council (Dsg). This year’s theme is ‘Passion Projects,’ a labour of love intended to be a showcase of creativity and collaboration.

The show features a collection of eight unique works by Singapore-based designers and studios, Asylum, Brandon Yeo, Clara Yee, Hans Tan, Lai Chan, Lanzavecchia + Wai, Lekker and Tiffany Loy. Their creations include a patchwork quilt, a perfectly balanced piggy bank, a communications-inspired console, a wall vase, a travelling case, a cabinet of two halves, a satchel for treasured objects, and a memento to be cherished and shared.

The designs will also be shown at Milan’s Salone del Mobile in April as part of the original Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition, which has taken place in Milan for ten years.

Handmade Passion Projects will also include a collection of Wallpaper* Handmade Classics – greatest hits from Wallpaper’s exhibition of specially commissioned one-off wonders debuted annually in Milan.

Grow - Plant Your Magical World
8 Jun 2019, Sat | 3pm - 5pm

Just like Jack whose curiosity led him to discover a whole new world in the clouds after planting his magic beans, this workshop for 7 - 10 year olds invites children to create their own magical world through illustration.
Passion comes in many shapes and sizes, and participants will imagine the endless possibilities of what they can create, inspired by their unique interests.

Led by illustrator Darel Seow, the session comprises of 2 parts. Firstly participants will learn how to tell stories through the characters they design and create their own character through a series of quick-fire illustration exercises.

Next, they will get to imagine what lies atop their own beanstalk by crafting a 3D paper sculpture, which they can take home.
