Written by subject experts from the public sector, academia and journalism, the books trace Singapore's evolution on a wide variety of fronts such as governance, economy, food and sports, and our flora and fauna.

Enterprise: The Armenians of Singapore
Sun, 28 Jul | 3pm - 4.30pm | The Salon, Level 1
Conspicuous in Singapore from 1820, individual Armenians have made their mark in the civic, social and economic life of Singapore. Two of Singapore’s national treasures – Armenian Church and Raffles Hotel –  as well as Singapore’s national flower Vanda Miss Joaquim and newspaper The Straits Times, owe their origin to this tiny, but enterprising community.
In this talk, Australian-based author and historian Dr Nadia Wright will introduce her latest book, The Armenians of Singapore: A Short History, launched by long-term resident of the Armenian community and violinist, Ani Umedyan. Dr Wright will then discuss the dynamics of the Armenian community in Singapore, as well as its origins and achievements. The book will be for sale at a special launch price and the author will be available for book-signing after the talk.

Limited spaces available. Admission is free.
