Symbols and Practices of a Uniquely Singaporean Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is observed around the world, but what are some practices that are unique to Singapore?

Hear from Frank Fu – the author and illustrator of Let’s Celebrate (大家来过节), a series of light-hearted books about festivals in Singapore – as he shares his thoughts on practices unique to Singapore such as lo hei (the practice of tossing raw fish salad). He will also decode the rich symbolism related to food, customs and practices during the Lunar New Year, and the surprising similarities and differences between the Lunar New Year and other festivals that are celebrated by the different ethnic groups.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a lo hei session in the museum to ring in the Lunar New Year with a toss to health, happiness and prosperity!
