This March holidays, our Early Learning Resources take centre stage in a showcase featuring children’s artworks in response to our artefacts, and a drop-in craft activity where you can create shape viewfinders and have fun using them to spot artefacts in our galleries after.
Specially on 11 March, get inspired by children’s show- and-tell of their favourite artefacts, have fun with sensory play activities, or go on a tour of the museum building.

There is so March to see and do at the National Museum, and we look forward to having you with us!

Drop-in Craft Activity: Seeing Shapes Everywhere!

11 – 17 Mar | 10.30am – 12pm & 2pm – 5.30pm
Glass Atrium, Level 2
Suitable for families with children aged 3 and above

Create and design your own shape viewfinders using air-dry polymer clay and have fun using them to spot artefacts in our galleries after.

Tip! Purchase Set B of our Early Learning Resources (comprising 2 booklets, “Shapes” and “Opposites”) if you need a hint on which artefacts to look out for!

Pre-registration for this activity is not required. Limited materials available daily, while stocks last.

Our Early Learning Resources introduce young children to our artefacts according to the themes of Alphabets, Numbers, Colours, Shapes and Opposites! Each booklet also includes a different story-based artefact hunt that you can use to explore the galleries!*

To double your fun, create your own shape viewfinders using air-dry polymer clay at our drop-in craft station (Glass Atrium, Level 2) before purchasing Set B (Shapes and Opposites) and embarking on the Shapes hunt!

Project Showcase: From the Past to the Future

Visit this special showcase, where children explore the links between historical artefacts and their present-day experiences as well as imagined future.

This showcase is presented by the National Museum of Singapore in collaboration with Mulberry.

Loose Parts Play: Turning History into Art

Suitable for age 3 – 6 with parental accompaniment

Let your creative juices flow with an array of natural materials such as sticks, pebbles, shells, boxes, wood cookies, tubes and many more! Create toys and vehicles of the past based on our artefact images, or invent your own new and original forms!

In-Gallery Show-and-Tell: Children's Take on Artefacts [FULLY BOOKED]

What happens when a group of curious 6-year-olds visit the National Museum of Singapore? They discover the stories behind our artefacts, form personal connections with their favourites… and would now like to share their thoughts with you!

In each 20-minute session, 6 enthusiastic young ones will educate and entertain with info tidbits and personal stories linked to their favourite artefacts. You too might come away wondering which is your favourite artefact and why!

Visit our permanent galleries with your little ones and play spot-the-artefact! Our colourful Early Learning Resources introduce pre-schoolers to our artefacts according to the themes of Numbers, Colours, and ABCs. Available at $8 per set from the Museum Label shop.
