We begin with a curator tour of NMS’s exhibition – A Voyage of Love and Longing – to explore how the region’s flora and fauna features in different aspects of a journey such as voyage, longing and return. The journey continues to Fort Canning, where you will see plants that are unique to Southeast Asia and visit a garden inspired by the museum’s William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings.

Finally, we end with a tea session at Hotel Fort Canning, where you will get to taste a high-tea menu which features some of the plants encountered on your journey.

Limited spaces available. Price includes a tour by NParks and a tea session at Hotel Fort Canning. Visit to register now.

This programme is suitable for all participants from ages 13 and above. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as there is an outdoor trail. Participants are reminded to keep their masks on while indoors. This programme is presented together with Hotel Fort Canning.

29 Apr – 5 Jun 2022 | 10am – 7pm

The Singapore HeritageFest presents Homeground – an installation that explores the intersections of the festival’s two themes of travel / tourism and natural heritage. Reflecting on the simple joys of travelling, the installation features a life-sized train inspired by the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) train that used to run from Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.

It also features video content of how the former railway line has now been transformed into a Railway Corridor – a corridor where community nodes are established and for communities to appreciate our nation’s rich and diverse natural heritage. Homeground will also feature drop-in activity and content by students from the NAFA Youth Panel.
