Planning a School Group Visit
From October 2020, additional guidelines apply for school visits, in line with safe management measures at the museum. Read more about the guidelines for school visits from Oct-Nov 2020, or email us at NHB_NM_Schools@nhb.gov.sg for updates. Guidelines may change according to the latest MOE and MOH advisories.
Schools interested in free-and-easy teacher-facilitated visits can click here for more information about booking a self-guided school group visit.
Schools interested in registering for school programmes available at the museum can visit our School Programmes webpage to find out more about our latest exhibitions and programmes, or see the School Programme Bookings page for more information about how to book a school programme.
1. Educators are advised to make a preparatory visit to the museum. This will allow you to plan the necessary logistics and familiarise yourself with our location, galleries and facilities. We are always happy to recommend workshops and tours that are appropriate for your students, so do contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Education resources to help you plan your trip are also available at the Resources for Educators page, or under the individual tabs for each educational level at the School Programmes webpage.
2. From 1 January 2019, the museum will open an hour earlier for school visits on weekdays in the months of March, May and July. Schools may visit the museum galleries from 9am to 6pm in these months. Arrival times for learning journeys and programmes can be scheduled from 8.30am. Please indicate your preferred time of arrival when filling up the Schools Booking Form.
3. The drop-off point for school buses will be at the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) bus bay. From 4 January 2019, buses will enter the NMS bus bay via Fort Canning Road, followed by Canning Walk. School groups will arrive at the museum via the Canning Entrance on Level 2.
