Mr Edmond Chin is a long-time benefactor of the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM). Born in Singapore, Mr Chin has had a lifelong interest in jewellery and design. He became a curator, collector, head of the jewellery department at Christie’s Hong Kong and started jewellery salon Etcetera Ltd.

In 2002, Mr Chin gifted ACM with rare Southeast Asian jewellery.
He donated cash in 2019 towards the museum’s new jewellery gallery, which opened in March 2020. Highlights include a gold headdress worn by the Minangkabau, one of the few remaining matrilineal societies in the world, and a peacock belt studded with diamonds.
This is Mr Chin’s third award, having been named Distinguished Patron in 2015 and Partner in 2016 and 2019.
