TEMASEK FOUNDATION

Temasek Foundation supports a diverse range of programmes which uplift lives and communities in Singapore and beyond. In 2021, it supported a pilot project to provide the visually impaired greater access to the National Museum of Singapore’s Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present exhibition.

Via a smart cane, users were able to listen to a special, descriptive audio tour while exploring and navigating the exhibition space independently. The smart cane experience was jointly developed by the National Heritage Board, Nanyang Polytechnic and Guide Dogs Singapore.

Temasek Foundation’s programmes, made possible through philanthropic endowments by Temasek, support innovative solutions and initiatives which promote community good for a more socially resilient and inclusive society for generations to come.

THE NEHEMIAH FOUNDATION

The Nehemiah Foundation was established to provide grants and financial support for vulnerable communities, persons with special needs, mental health services, as well as charitable initiatives in the education arena. The foundation’s purpose closely follows the Old Testament account of rebuilding broken walls and lives as detailed in the Book of Nehemiah.

With the COVID-19 pandemic surfacing new needs and challenges, heritage institutions are now, more so than ever, playing a key role in galvanising communities to rebuild, restore and unite peoples toward the new normal. In this light, the Nehemiah Foundation supported the National Museum of Singapore with a cash donation to its Special Exhibitions Fund in 2020 and 2021.

YUVABHARATHI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Yuvabharathi International School, which offers educational programmes from the Montessori to senior secondary level, has been a strong supporter of the Tamil Language Council’s Tamil Language Festival since 2016.

The school similarly donated to the council for the festival’s 2022 edition. Its generous contributions have enabled the festival to expand its efforts to promote the greater use of Tamil and widen appreciation of Indian culture within the community, especially among youth.
