70 percent of the Singapore war crimes trials covered cases that took place in other parts of Asia. This aiguillette belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Kaizo Saito, who was one of the 16 Japanese officers tried in 1946 for maltreatment and torture of civilians on Car Nicobar island. He was later found not guilty.
