Up Close with ACM presents a unique way to engage with the ACM collection – through your sense of touch! Developed in partnership with Dialogue in the Dark Singapore, this intimate programme is led by facilitators with visual impairment.
During a 90-minute session, blindfolded participants will handle 3D-printed objects based on the museum’s collection. They will then get to experience the museum through a guided tour of these objects in ACM’s Maritime Trade and Court & Company galleries, led by our friendly Museum Volunteers.
This programme is generously supported by Keppel Corporation.
Recommended for ages 15 and up.

Here’s what past participants have said about the programme:
“A fantastic event - it was so much fun, and I learned not only about the objects and their historical context, but also about the experiences of the partially sighted and visually impaired in my community.”
“I enjoyed being able to try a new way to experience the artefacts, which made me appreciate little details more.”
“It was experiential and really helped me empathise with how persons with visual impairment might feel in the museum.”
