Journey back in time and learn more about the people who built Singapore from the ground up in this interactive installation! Role-play as early migrants and trace their journeys on an interactive map. Don’t forget to drop by the activity space to honour the hands that shaped our nation’s success with a special appreciation for our migrant heroes today.

This activity is free of charge. However, all visitors will need to obtain an admission sticker to enter the Once Upon a Tide exhibition (entry is free for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents; admission charges will apply to tourists and foreign residents).

Travel back in time and meet some of Singapore’s early pioneers in this interactive character meet-and-greet! Engage in role-play with a samsui woman, rickshaw puller, or iced-water seller as they share stories on migration and life in early Singapore. Ask questions, join the conversation, and discover the history behind their work in shaping Singapore!

*Characters will start off from the exit of Singapore History Gallery, Level 1 and roam along the Concourse and Main Rotunda thereafter.

Tomorrow’s Champions – A special competition in conjunction with Faces of Singapore: A Selection of Short Films

Inspired by the stories presented in Faces of Singapore: A Selection of Short Films? Take part in our special competition, Tomorrow’s Champions, and share what event or activity you would like to represent Singapore in or who inspires you to succeed. The top 20 most compelling stories will win a pair of adult-child tickets to the Singapore 2025 World Para Swimming Championships, sponsored by the Singapore Disability Sports Council.

Discover the exciting world of 3D creation from 3D pen drawing to digital design with Tinkercad. See how 3D models inspire innovation in Singapore and print a custom-designed 3D model.

Participants must bring their own laptop, charger and mouse for this workshop. No prior experience with Tinkercad is required. Participants’ Tinkercad designs will be 3D-printed and couriered to their home address approximately 3 weeks after the workshop. Children aged 11 years and above may be dropped off and attend the workshop without an accompanying adult.
