Armenian Street Party invites everyone to a joyful Peranakan Gathering! Dance, taste, and wander through a riot of colours, sounds, and stories as heritage spills onto the streets.
From playful installations and immersive experiences to live performances, celebrate Peranakan traditions – loud, proud, and reimagined!
Enjoy discounted admission to Peacock Power: Beauty and Symbolism Across Cultures during programme hours. ($5 for Singapore citizens/PRs; $12 for foreign residents/tourists)

Threads of Gathering by Dawn Koh
Threads of Gathering is a living tapestry of art, heritage, and community. Inspired by the museum’s collection, it features traditional motifs such as butterflies, peacocks, birds, and floral patterns that symbolise transformation, continuity, and gathering.
Visitors are invited to engage with the artwork. Contribute to this evolving tapestry of colour, memory, and craft, and connect more deeply with Peranakan heritage.
Dawn Koh
Dawn is a Singapore-based mixed media artist who works primarily in installation. She studied at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins. Her training brings a refined and thoughtful approach to materials and form.
Community engagement is central to her practice. She views installation not only as an object in space, but as a shared environment that fosters participation and dialogue.

Join Chef Aziza Ali as she demonstrates how to prepare bamia from scratch. Using aromatic spices found in Arab kitchens, she brings out the rich flavours of this comforting okra stew. A staple at family gatherings and festive tables, bamia is a dish that connects generations through food and tradition.

Chef Aziza Ali
Aziza Ali is a pioneering Singaporean businesswoman, chef, and artist. In 1979, she opened Singapore’s first fine-dining Malay restaurant, Aziza's. She is also a culinary consultant, cookbook author, and painter. In 2016, she was inducted into the Singapore Women's Hall of Fame for her contributions to Malay cuisine.

Dapor Diva Meets Aunty Lee: A Killer Ayam Buah Keluak
Join renowned Nyonya Chef Shirley Tay, author of the Dapor Diva, as she demonstrates how to prepare ayam buah keluak. Special guest Vernetta Lopez, known for her role as Rosie “Aunty” Lee in Aunty Lee's Deadly Delights, will add her signature wit to the session. Watch as they share cooking tips, stories, and lively conversation in this hands-on demonstration.

Chef Nyonya Shirley Tay
At 79, Shirley Tay remains a respected ambassador of Nyonya cuisine. She began learning recipes from her grandmother and later worked in hotel kitchens. Her career brought her to Hong Kong, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Kuching. She has held roles at hotels including Swissôtel Merchant Court, Hyatt Hotel, and Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Beyond the kitchen, she performs as the lead singer of her band, Shirley’s Cupid, and takes part in plays with Gunong Sayang (1910). She also appeared on MediaCorp’s Ways of the Matriarch, a cooking drama series showcasing Nyonya cuisine.
Aunty Lee’s Deadly Delights
Rosie "Aunty" Lee runs a popular Peranakan restaurant in Singapore. She is also an amateur sleuth who finds herself solving crime in her neighbourhood. Assisted by her helper Nina, restaurant manager Cherill, and waitress Yanna, she often works alongside local police officers to uncover the truth. Catch Aunty Lee’s Deadly Delights on mewatch!

Merlin Pillay is a Chitty Melaka and former Singapore Airlines cabin crew member. She now runs a home-based food business, catering Indian and vegetarian dishes as well as desserts for corporate and private events. She also offers bespoke home dining experiences.
