Reog Ponorogo and Wayang Krucil Performance by Pesona Nusantara from Indonesia

Experience two of Indonesia’s most spectacular traditional performances on Armenian Street. Marvel at Reog Ponorogo, a centuries-old art form from Ponorogo, East Java, featuring the iconic Dadak Merak – a towering lion-peacock mask weighing up to 50 kilograms – alongside Wayang Krucil, a rare wooden puppet theatre from Java.

Founded in September 2022, Vocabella is an emerging ladies’ choir committed to empowering women through choral music. About The Peranakan Voices

The Peranakan Voices (TPV) is the official choral group of The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS). Since 1999, the choir has preserved Baba-Nyonya heritage through traditional and contemporary songs, performed in Baba Malay and English. Dressed in vibrant kebayas and batik, they perform regularly at cultural festivals, museum events, and community gatherings.

Bharatanatyam Performance by HTSBT Dance Group

Watch the grace and symbolism of the peacock come alive through classical Indian dance. This performance in three acts journeys through stories of devotion, love, and celebration – from a devotee's longing for Lord Krishna, to the peacock as Lord Murugan's sacred vehicle, to an energetic kavadi dance honouring faith and communal joy.

A timeless expression of Indian heritage, brought to life through movement, music, and myth.

About the Artists

Kenneth Chin (Canlaken)

Kenneth is a local illustrator and conservation photographer who uses art and photography to spotlight Southeast Asia's biodiversity. Through his studio Canlaken, he has worked with Temasek Shophouse, Mandai Nature, and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.

Phoebe Michelin (Wilducation)

Phoebe is an artist and wildlife advocate whose multimedia project, Wilducation, blends nature education with vibrant illustrations. Through her work, Phoebe hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation of flora and fauna in audiences of all ages.

An Afternoon with a Taxidermist: Butterfly Frame Workshop with Black Crow Taxidermy & Art

About Black Crow Taxidermy & Art

Black Crow Taxidermy & Art (BCTA) combines nature, science, and art to create one-of-a-kind art pieces – offering an experiential and educational encounter with the natural world. The only taxidermy company in Singapore to offer educational talks, workshop experiences, and pet preservation services, BCTA operates on a strict no catch-no kill policy. They actively support conservation through donations and partnerships with NGOs, and works closely with government organisations including the Singapore Tourism Board and National Heritage Board.

The Peacock in Bharatanatyam: A Classical Indian Dance Presentation

About HTSBT Dance Group

The Bharathanatyam classes at the Holy Tree Sri Balasubramaniar Temple have nurtured students in classical Indian dance since the early 2000s, providing structured training from beginners to advanced levels. Classes are led by experienced Gurus Dr. N. Gowri and Mrs. Kavitha Ramu. The HTSBT Dance Group performs regularly within the local arts and community space, celebrating Indian culture, tradition, and spirituality while building students’ stage confidence.

About the curator

Diane Chee is Curator for Peranakan Art at the Asian Civilisations Museum and the Peranakan Museum. She worked on the revamp of the Peranakan Museum’s permanent galleries in 2023, and her current research focuses on expressions of Peranakan identity and intangible cultural heritage across Southeast Asia. She holds an MA in Asian Studies from Leiden University, the Netherlands.

Join Baba Raymond Wong, recipient of the NHB Stewards of Intangible Cultural Heritage Award 2023 and 1st Vice President of The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS), as he explores the kebaya – its history, influences, and designs. View rare and vintage kebayas up close and learn more about this recently inscribed entry on the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

About Baba Raymond

One of the few remaining Peranakan kebaya makers in Singapore, Raymond Wong has nearly two decades of experience in Peranakan beadwork and embroidery. As well as developing new methods and techniques, he is a dedicated teacher who has shared his craft through workshops and teaching at LASALLE for more than 10 years.

More Than a Craft: Love, Precision, and Peranakan Culture Through Beading by Nyonya Angeline Kong, Founder, Nyonya Needlework and Crafts

Nyonya Angeline Kong explores the heritage of Peranakan beadwork and demonstrates the intricate craftsmanship behind kasut manek – where love, patience, precision, and culture converge in every piece.

Watch a peacock-themed beading project in progress, and discover the detailing, colour combinations, and craftsmanship that define traditional Peranakan beadwork.

About Nyonya Angeline

A sixth-generation Peranakan, Angeline Kong has nearly 30 years of experience in traditional Peranakan beadwork. Since learning the craft in 1997, she has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing the heritage of kasut manek through workshops, demonstrations, and cultural storytelling. Her work has been featured by CNA, National Geographic, and The New York Times.
