SKYGAZERS: DREAMING INTO THE PAST AND FUTURE BY SPACE OBJEKT X REZA HASNI

Skygazers explores our connection to the cosmos and culture through an interactive light installation. Inspired by an archival photograph of four nyonyas, the artwork features a face gazing skyward, adorned with distinctive Peranakan patterns and motifs. Its three-layered structure of translucent acrylic panels and metal frames invites visitors to walk between layers and experience different perspectives of the face. This synthesis of traditional patterns and contemporary form invites reflection on heritage and aspiration. It connects our ancestral roots with dreams of the future, offering a space for hope and contemplation.
