Prior booking is required for all group visits of 10 students and above. This will help us prevent overcrowding and ensure that you, your students and all other visitors can enjoy your time with us.
We recommend that you start by referring to the School Programmes pages to find more detailed information about school visits and programmes, as well as resources to help you plan your visit.
You may also download the museum's Social Story to prepare your children and students with additional needs for a trip to the museum. This social story shares information on things that they may see, hear and find while exploring our spaces.
Admission into the Permanent Galleries is free for Citizens and Permanent Residents as well as teachers, students and staff from local government schools. Admission charges will apply for accompanying non-Singaporean and non-Permanent Resident adults who are not part of the school's faculty. Admission charges may also apply for all visitors into Special Exhibitions. Please refer to Admissions for definitions and details of admission charges.
Guided tours to the Singapore History Gallery by our experienced docents for students of educational level Primary 5 and above (ages 11 and up) can also be arranged, for up to a maximum of 45 students per session.
Tours are approximately an hour long and conducted in English, Mandarin or Japanese only. They are available only to the Singapore History Gallery and do not apply for other galleries in the museum, unless otherwise stated.
Other workshops and tours suitable for students of lower levels are also available. Please visit our School Programmes page to find out more.
