Help us protect our valuable National Collection and create a safe and conducive museum environment by observing the following etiquette:
Do not touch any object unless explicitly allowed. Do not rest on display panels, showcases and against gallery walls.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries.
Flash photography and selfie sticks are not allowed in the galleries.
Galleries are climate controlled.
Please set mobile phones to silent or vibration mode.
Please speak softly.
No running.
Tripods, selfie sticks, large backpacks, cabin bags, trolleys and any other bulky items are not allowed in the galleries.
These items must be stored in the lockers located in the Basement and on Level 2. (Suitable new $1 or 50c coins are available from our Visitor Services staff).
Use of retractable roller shoes, roller skates, skate scooters are not allowed. These items may be stored in the lockers or parked at the bicycle stands in front of the Stamford Office building.
For visitors using personal mobility devices and motorised wheelchairs, please check with Museum staff at the Visitor Services Counter before entering the Museum.
Sketching using only pencils, sketchbooks and notebooks is permitted.
Please do not obstruct traffic flow in the gallery while sketching.
Large umbrellas can be stored in the umbrella stands outside major galleries.

Discover Singapore's 700 years of history anew at our mainstay exhibition "Once Upon a Tide: Singapore's Journey from Settlement to Global City", and our immersive multimedia experience "Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time", as our Singapore History Gallery undergoes a revamp. The Singapore History Gallery will reopen in October 2026.

Parts of the National Museum of Singapore are undergoing restoration and upgrading works. We remain open with exhibitions, programmes as well as dining and retail offerings.
